Children’s Hospice Wins Minibus

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) won the bespoke vehicle as part of the LV=Brokers’ Big Heart charity giveaway.

Mike Crane, managing director from LV=Broker, delivered the minibus to Charlton Farm.

He said: “We’re honoured to be able to support a charity which provides such an invaluable service to children and local families when they need it most.

“The work Children’s Hospice South West does is incredible and we’re really happy that we’ve been able to help them.”

The minibus, which was designed and built by Red Kite, will be used for a variety of activities, including the sibling team, which looks after the brothers and sisters of children being treated by the hospice.

Red Kite heads Together MinibusScottish Borders MP Calum Kerr has praised the “inspirational” work of the Borders based brain injury charity Heads Together, after celebrating the arrival of their brand new bespoke minibus.

The new Red Kite Minibus was delivered last week to the charity’s headquarters in Hawick after a successful fundraising campaign to raise £37,000.

Speaking at a celebration to “cut the ribbon” on the new bus, Mr Kerr, who also acts as Patron of Heads Together, told us:

“It was a delight to join with volunteers and service users at Heads Together to celebrate this great step forward.”

Brand New Red Kite Accessible Minibus helps Bexhill Caring Community

In early March the keys to a £43,000 brand new Red Kite Wheelchair Accessible 14-seater mini-bus, were handed over in a ceremony in front of Bexhill Hospital. The League of Friends purchased the new minibus, complete with powered tail-lift for wheelchairs and sign-written ‘League of Friends, assisting with transport for the community’. It will remain in League ownership but will be operated by fellow local charity Bexhill Caring Community as part of its three-vehicle Dial-A-Ride fleet. Among the services provided by Dial-A-Ride is patient transport to the hospital.

Town Mayor Cllr Simon Elford was guest of honour at the ceremony. League chairman Cllr Stuart Earl is also chairman of Bexhill Caring Community. League treasurer Chris Ashford is also BCC treasurer.
