Future Fuels
Tomorrows Technology Today
Today, Red Kite works closely with all the leading manufacturers to provide minibuses that will be safe, practical and viable group transport solutions for our customers. Some Electric, Hydrogen and Hybrid vehicles will soon be providing green transport alternatives, as lowering the carbon footprint moves up our customer’s buying criteria. Therefore, should you wish to discuss ‘Future Fuel’ alternatives our experienced team are happy to help.
ELECTRIC
Electric minibuses produce zero emissions, which can help improve air quality and reduce the number of harmful pollutants in the atmosphere. Electric minibuses can also be cheaper to run than diesel alternatives as they have lower electricity costs per mile and require less maintenance due to fewer moving parts. Electric minibuses also comply with low or zero-emission zones, such as ULEZ, saving on admission charges. Red Kite already offers a choice of electric minibus alternatives in our range. BIODIESEL
The use of biodiesel in hybrid buses adds to the environmental benefits as biodiesel is biodegradable and non toxic. Biodiesel blends help to reduce exhaust emissions by petroleum diesel. Many transit agencies across the country have adopted hybrid electric-biodiesel buses.
HVO
HVO stands for hydrotreated vegetable oil and is an eco-friendly biofuel which uses hydrogen as a catalyst to create a renewable energy source. Because HVO is created using hydrogen instead of methanol as a catalyst, it is classed as a cleaner alternative to regular biodiesel.
HVO is part of the paraffinic fuel family. It is a second-generation biofuel, also known as an advanced biofuel. It’s produced through a process known as hydrotreating, which results in a pure, clear, odourless liquid hydrocarbon fuel with minimal sulphur content. Sometimes known as Renewable Diesel as it is a drop-in replacement for fossil diesel, made from renewable sources, delivering an efficient and reliable performance for your minibus.
